Does a gallon bottle of Carlo Rossi Sangria need to be refrigerated after opening?

how does a person choose from a merlot or a shiraz or a cabernet? is it the difference in taste of the wines, occasions or the food that matters? please answer considering the indian pallate.
I have been told that red wine (especially european wine) has to be decanted for about 1 hour before being served. I tried it and noticed that the same wine will test much better after decanting. However, this will bring the wine to room tempearture (around 75 degrees), way far from the suggested serving temperature (65 degrees). What\'s the trick?

I have a 750ml bottle of Especial Gran Reserva red wine (rioja I think) made in 1978, bought at the winery in Spain, never opened, in excellent condition (label, cork, everything). I have been trying to determine its value and if possible, who or where I could sell it. Anyone have helpful information regarding this?
There are particles (sediment, cork?) floating in wine that we have had about 15 yrs. Do you think it is still good to drink if we use a sieve to strain it?
