Vine & Dine Is Celebrating 20 Years And Bringing Back Escoba Bistro!

We’re celebrating 20 years of Vine & Dine!

And we’re going back to almost the beginning and bringing back Escoba Bistro & Wine Bar to host our celebrations!

Darren Hamelin and Stephen Deere opened Escoba Bistro in 1996 in a rustic wine cellar setting in the basement of what was Penny Lane Mall, moving across the road to the north side of 8 Avenue SW in 2007. The restaurant was a staple in Calgary’s dining scene until it closed in 2022.

Brad and Laurel O’Leary were the executive chef and manager for most of that time, and probably cooked and served more Vine & Dine dinners for us than any other restaurant in the city - so to celebrate our 20th anniversary we’re bringing the spirit of Escoba back for two nights in June!

We’re also bringing back the famous signature dishes from Escoba!

Join us at Stephen Deere’s Modern Steak, indoors on the rooftop, for a six-course pairing menu of all our favourite Escoba dishes!
