Harlan Estate stands among the world’s great wine estates, built through decades of thoughtful decisions and an unwavering pursuit of excellence. Inspired early by Robert Mondavi, Harlan’s perspective was forever shaped by a 1980 journey through Bordeaux and Burgundy, where he discovered the profound importance of terroir—how soil, site, and environment define truly great wines.

That philosophy comes to life at Promontory, a remote and largely undiscovered estate tucked beyond Oakville’s southwestern edge. Spanning an entire watershed, this dramatic landscape offers remarkable diversity of soil, elevation, and climate—yielding wines of depth, structure, and nuance.

The Mascot provides a different lens on the Harlan family vineyards. Sourced from younger vines across their estate holdings, it offers an early expression of sites that will one day contribute to Harlan Estate, BOND, and Promontory. With ongoing replanting, it remains a dynamic and evolving wine. A personal touch: the label features a white English Bull Terrier, reflecting the family’s enduring love of dogs.
