The winescape of California is shifting beneath our feet and some of the most exciting wines in the world are now emerging from our own backyard. Producers committed to freshness, vibrancy, and drinkability are exploring new grapes and new ways of working with them and the results are fantastic. While Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay still define much of domestic production, especially in iconic regions like Napa and Sonoma, a new generation of winemakers is beginning to ask thoughtful questions about style, site, and tradition.

This class will revisit the idea of California wine while honoring its history and celebrating its evolution and pioneering spirit. We’ll feature bottles from many of the leading producers of this movement of winemakers that are helping to shape what’s coming next.

This is a welcoming and engaging class for anyone wine-curious, whether you’re just getting started or already deep down the rabbit hole. Along the way, we’ll explore the cultural, economic, and historical forces that continue to shape not only California wine, but the fabric of who we are today.
