Winemaker Luciano Ciolfi visits Wine Soltutions!

We are excited for the opportunity to host Luciano Ciolfi, owner and winemaker of a small Brunello di Montalcino producer Sanlorenzo.

Sanlorenzo is a very traditional winery. We have had the pleasure of tasting four different wines of their Brunello (2004, 2019, 2019 Riserva, and 2020). The 2004 was sensational, easily one of the top 5 wines we tasted all of last year. The 2019 and 2020 are youngsters that deliver a wonderfully classic Brunello experience now that is great but with cellar time will catch that 2004! The 2019 Riserva is a wonderful iteration of a Riserva. It has the extra depth and concentration a Riserva should always have!

"San Lorenzo has flown under the radar for far too long. Owner/Winemaker Luciano Ciolfi practices traditional methods in the winery, harnessing the power of his relatively young vineyards (planted in 1997) in the northwestern sector of Montalcino. The house Brunello is fantastic, but the Riserva Bramante— from a small parcel where dry soils create much smaller berries—takes things to the next level. If you’ve never experienced these wines, now’s the time to change that."

We will be doing this tasting in two sessions:

Session 1 (1 pm - 2:30pm) - a sit-down tasting/class that will allow you to taste the wines in a small setting and interact with Luciano. JUST 10 seats! $50

Session 2 (3 pm - 4 pm) - a traditional tasting table shop tasting where Luciano will share the same wines as the class. $25
