This class is part of the Grandes Pagos de España Certification Program. You may enroll in this module as a standalone class, or complete it as part of the full certification program to earn the Grandes Pagos de España Certificate.

The class features a thorough coverage of the Green Spain and The Ebro River Valley Regions, along with some of the best wines Spain has to offer during the tasting.

Green Spain & The Ebro River Valley

Green Spain stands apart from the rest of the country, shaped by an Atlantic-influenced climate that produces some of Spain’s most distinctive dry white wines.

You will gain a clear understanding of Albariño, one of Spain’s most celebrated white grapes, and discover Txakoli through the wines of Astobiza, renowned for its freshness, acidity, and coastal character.

The session then moves to the Ebro River Valley, where you will study Rioja in depth, focusing on the classic expression of Tempranillo. You will also explore the increasingly important regions of SomontanoCalatayud, and Cariñena, examining how modern styles and evolving winemaking approaches are reshaping this historic area.
