Cahors..malbec 2002 Cotes D'olt

I have a Cotes d' Olt 2002...Cahors AOC Malbec....is it still drinkable?
Answer From Expert Roger Bohmrich MW

Côtes d'Olt is the label from the local cooperative. There is more than one bottling. Is the one you have the Tradition, which is a basic, inexpensive example for drinking when young? Or does it have another proprietary name? In any event, Cahors can surprise with its ability to age, provided of course the bottle has been stored in good conditions. As is often the case, the only way to know if a wine is "drinkable" is to pull the cork. Hope for a pleasant surprise!
