A full day session, 20 wines, with lunch:An intermediate class run by credentialed, enthusiastic wine instructors from the American Wine Society, the country's largest community of wine explorers. WineSmarts Level II is designed as a continuation of WineSmarts Level I, and will dive deeper into how grape varieties, climate, terroir and various wine-making processes affect their resulting wines. Acquire a more in-depth ability to evaluate the twenty wines covered in this course through blind tastings and fun, interactive learning challenges. Gain the skills and knowledge to make smarter, more confident wine purchases for every day drinking, your cellar or while dining out. Use the knowledge gained of grape varieties, regions and techniques to estimate what will be in your glass. Take food and wine pairing to the next level by evaluating, comparing and contrasting flavors, aromas and textures. WineSmarts I is not a required prerequisite to register for this class as it is open to anyone wishing to advance their wine knowledge.
Pass an optional 50-question, multiple-choice exam to earn a certificate. Low student/instructor ratio. Accelerate your path to being an educated wine lover.
