Ready for spring? Us too! Saturday’s tasting leans into the season, whether the actual weather turns out to cooperate or not. So as you plant (or dream of planting) your pansies and watch for daffodils to emerge, come join us Saturday from noon-4pm and sip:

Red Tail Ridge Perpetuelle Change Brunt Nature No. 5 – Fabulous, Champagne-like, bubbles with loads of toast and class that just happens to be from New York’s Finger Lakes region. Outstanding.

Schloss Gobelsburg Kamptal Gruner Veltliner 2024 – Classic Kamptal Grüner from the oldest wine estate in the Danube (founded in the 12th century). Crisp and peppery with very pretty fruit. Asparagus is coming. Drink this.

Margerum Rose Santa Barbara Riviera Can 2025 – Our first 2025 rosé of the season is a winner on color, aroma, flavor and…package! Doug Margerum’s very Provençal pink is always delicious. And portable, too, in a 355ml can.

Verdier Logel Cotes du Forez Cuvee des Gourmets 2024 – We had dinner with Julie Logel and were reminded just how much we love her wines from this wildly obscure Loire Valley region. This is 100% Gamay from granite soils, adding a big jolt of minerality and tobacco to Gamay's standard plump black cherry and dark berry fruit.

Bodega Lanzaga Rioja Corriente Bueno de Diario 2022 – Winemaker Telmo Rodriguez calls this, “A good, everyday wine… Corriente is a simple and approachable wine that represents a region, its culture and of course its wine.” Delicious value here.

A wonderfully springy cheese will be on tasting, too: Parish Hill Kashar, a Balkan-style style pasta filata cheese turned out in basket molds to form drums. From a Vermont-based producer that specializes in Italian-style, seasonal, cheeses it’s cow’s milk and delivers a nice burst of buttery, tangy, and somewhat peppery flavors.

Spring is in the air – at least at CBC this Saturday from noon-4pm. Come celebrate the season – or, at least, the season to come – with us and some great wines!
