The Monticello Viticultural Area is known for its incredibly rich wine history, especially centering around Thomas Jefferson's Monticello vineyards. While some of our domestic wine origins are in this region, we can say that the past decade or so has been when we have seen the major boom of the region's wine excellence. In fact, the Monticello wine region was named the Wine Region of the Year 2023 by Wine Enthusiast! Let's dig in, and take a closer look at the region and the finest wines being made there today.
