Spring is here and the buds are popping. Color is everywhere. Join us this Friday, 5-7P,

for the start of a beautiful, floral spring weekend.

You'll have the oppertunity to sample;

  • 2024, Domaine Roc de l’Abbaye, Sauvignon Blanc, Loire, France $22.00/$18.70

Domaine Roc de l’Abbaye, owned and operated by the Mollet family, is in SaintSatur, a village famous for its ancient Abbey and its Silex (flint) terroir which gives the grapes grown here a distinct mineral drive. This vibrant wine is fresh with white fruits, pear and apricot and finishes with trademark minerality and balanced acidity.

  • 2024, Vignobles Feray, “Adele Blanc Sec” Chenin Blanc, Loire, France $17.00/$14.45

A vibrant and textured Chenin Blanc with crisp orchard fruit, bright acidity, and a mineral-driven finish. This aromatic wine is coming from declassified vineyards within Vouvray and is vinified dry but with extended lees-aging to bring out a rounder texture and aromatic profile.

  • 2025, Maison Gutowski, “M-G La Dépendance” Rosé, Méditerranée, France $18.00/$15.30

Maison Gutowski crafted this Mediterranean rosé with a beautiful blend of southern grapes that brings together the best of Provence-style winemaking. It's the kind of wine that makes you want to sit outside and enjoy the moment. The nose opens with delicate floral notes, followed by yellow fruits like peach and apricots, with a touch of citrus. On the palate, it's light and dynamic, with a refreshing attack that carries the same fruity character through to the finish.

  • 2022, Terra Costantino, “deAetna” Etna Rosso, Sicily, Italy $32.00/$27.20

Always an energetic and vibrant red, deAetna comes from contrada Blandano on the southeast slope of Etna. Wild strawberries, rose petals, earth tones, lavender and hints of spiced orange waft up from this remarkably pure Etna Rosso. This opens with a pleasant inner sweetness as vividly ripe wild berry fruits meet complicating notes of clove. Juicy acidity creates fantastic drinkability.

  • 2021, Castello Di Fonterutoli, Chianti Classico, Tuscany, Italy $32.00/$27.20

Established in 1435, the Mazzei family is one of Tuscany’s oldest wine dynasties and they have been cultivating vineyards and crafting fine wine for over 600 years in Fonterutoli in the heart of Chianti Classico. From a vintage that delivered great results across the region, the 2021 Fonterutoli is a bit darker, more powerful and concentrated than your standard Chianti Classico. Cherry and dark plum cede to pretty mineral tones. That extra intensity is part of the house style and is a little gift for those who appreciate more meat on those Sangiovese bones.

BEER TASTING

Drink (A Bit) Like A Monk!

It's time to drink to the good old days, or at least honor their influence on today's beer culture. While Lent has come and gone, you can still drink like one of those monks, with tonight's selection of brews that would have typically served as a food replacement during those 40 days. "Liquids do not break the fast". So with these robust, filling and delicious beers, you can keep you going for long periods of meditation, making cheese, jam or more beer!

  • Menotomator (Dopplebock, Arlington Brewing, Arlington, MA, 8.3%)

Arlington, the little brewery that could, has produced this delicious, dark, dopplebock as part of their spring time line up. While the guys are not monks, dopplebocks are a classic style to have around Lent, as a liquid replacement for bread so as not to break the fast. With notes of molasses, dark rye bread, and a hint of toffee, this is a complex but comparatively light bodied beer. (reg. $18.50, on sale $15.73)

  • Tripel (Trappist Tripel, Westmalle Abbey, Westmalle, Antwerp, BEL, 9.5%)

Westmalle Tripel is a clear, golden Trappist beer containing 9.5% alcohol. The slow brewing process and secondary fermentation in the bottle produce a complex beer that has a fruity aroma of ripe banana and a lovely nuanced hop nose. The soft and creamy flavour, with its bitter note carried by the fruit aroma, is full of finesse and elegance. Also enjoy the deliciously long, dry finish, from the "mother of all Tripels".(reg. $8.45, on sale $7.18)

  • Rauchbier (Smoked Marzen, Schlenkerla, Bamberg, DE, ~5.1%)

Aecht Original Schlenkerla Maerzen Smokebeer, considered the classic example in its category, has been brewed for centuries in the baroque town of Bamberg in Franconia (Bavaria/Germany). Following the most ancient malting traditions, all its select barley malts are kilned over a fire of beech wood logs at the Schlenkerla maltings. Brewed in classic copper vessels and matured for months in 14th century cellars, Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier is a truly unique smoky beer experience. (reg. $6.00, on sale $5.10)
