Local Event Premier Host
Cost: $67.50 plus tax and gratuity
So we were reminiscing about all the winemaker dinners and tours we had the privilege of hosting in 2018, and getting melancholy thinking about some of the great wines we'd been able to pour when we thought, "How cool would it be to pair our five top selling red wines of the year with their own special menu?"
So we went through a whole year's worth of sales recaps, ranked all the reds according to how you voted for them with your pocketbook, and picked the five top. We then designed an awesome menu that pairs two tasting courses with each of the five wines. If you enjoy great food paired with great wines, this is definitely one dinner you'll not want to miss.
Cost is a mere sixty-seven fifty for the entire 10-course tasting menu and generous half-glass pours of all five wines (which equals over half a bottle per person). Hope you can join us. Here's the line-up. Wine notes and bottle prices are at the end of this announcement if you're interested.
NOTE: Due to the complexity of this menu we regret that we will be unable to accommodate any menu modification requests whatsoever.

WINE NOTES & BOTTLE PRICES
2016 Stolpman "La Cuadrilla" Red Blend ~ $18
(Ballard Canyon) Winemaker's Notes: 72% Syrah, 16% Sangiovese + 12% Grenache. Pops with a blast of fresh red plum, boysenberry, and blueberry fruit. Enjoyable out of the gate, the full-bodied wine’s power is totally in check – with tannin and acidity already integrated into the pure juiciness that lasts way through the finish. This wine is going to make a lot of folks very happy with the crew! Wine Advocate, 92 points. Noted "top value in Santa Barbara County"
2016 Croix "Narrow Gauge" Pinot Noir ~ $44
(Russian River Valley) Winemaker's Notes: A fuller and broader style of Pinot Noir, the nose opens with aromatic concentrations of sweet earth, rose water, black cherries and allspice. The palate is exotic, expansive, yet focused with tongue curling acidity and a savory glide that finishes with substantial length on the palate. Drink now through 2025.
2014 Bokisch Tempranillo ~ $19
(Lodi) Winemaker's Notes: 99% Tempranillo + 1% Graciano. Deep Purple. That is what meets your eye as you twirl this gorgeous wine in your glass. Aromas of Bing cherry and ripe Santa Rosa plums combine with hints of cedar smoke, sage and cocoa powder. The 2014 Tempranillo exhibits a mélange of dark berries on the palate with dark chocolate, carob and tart raspberry plum jam. The beautifully structured tannins make this a perfect wine for aging in the Spanish tradition of Crianza, Reserva and Gran Reserva. Enjoy now and for many years into the future! Pair with peppercorn crusted filet mignon with wild mushrooms port sauce or a traditional whole roasted chicken seasoned with smoked paprika and preserved lemons. 92 Points, Wine Enthusiast.
2015 Venge "Silencieux" Cabernet Sauvignon ~ $36
(Napa Valley) Winemaker's Notes: 96% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Petite Verdot + 2% Cabernet Franc. Fresh roasted coffee, sweet cassis and aromatic blue fruits lead the way to full bodied deliciousness. Dense and compact, with firm tannins that fully support the cascade of mouth-coating flavors. The finish is remarkably lengthy and complex. This wine is approachable upon release but cellar worthy through 2028.
2013 Saxon Brown "Fighting Brothers" Syrah ~ $28
(Sonoma Coast) Winemaker's Notes: Combines rich, dense flavors built around meaty dark berry, dark blossom, cedar, pepper and spice notes, with a roasted herb accent woven amid the elegant tannins. Supple texture. Drink now through 2022.
