When a wine shows you what it's got, giving up a big range of aromas, flavors and textures almost as soon as it hits your glass, we call it "expressive." And that's the theme for this Saturday's free tasting from noon-4pm. If you're after wines described by terms like "shy" or "subtle," this one isn't for you. But if you like wine to give you a great ride from sip number one without any effort on your part, you're going to enjoy trying:

Christophe Thorigny Vouvray Sec 2024 - A summery, bone dry, full of citrus and fruit Chenin Blanc that will delight in sharing the table with fish or shrimp tacos and refresh sipped solo on a sunny afternoon.

Greywacke Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough 2025 - Cloudy Bay founder Kevin Judd makes great wine here. As JancisRobinson.com says, it's "The kind of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc that makes you want to cry with relief in a blind tasting exam because it’s so beautifully classic."

Ch Du Grand Bos Bordeaux Rose Perlostrea 2025 - NOT what you expect from Bordeaux, but then neither is feisty young winemaker Lou Rochet. This is pink wine with loads of character and peachy fruit. A great oyster wine - Lou loves the bivalves! - and a joy to just drink.

Finca Millara Mencia Ribeira Sacra Cuesta De Los Olivos 2022 - Stunningly good Mencia from the old Roman terraces of Spain's Ribeira Sacra. The blend of rich fruit and texture with lively, light, structure here is a bit breathtaking.

Ancient Oak Zinfandel Russian River Pagnano Vyd 2019 - A throwback to 1980s Zinfandel – big, ripe, peppery, spiced with a bit of American Oak but not at all sweet or heavy (despite the bold 14.9% alcohol). An upgrade cookout red par excellence.

As always, all the wines are on sale for this nicely diverse tasting and you can mix/match your favorites for best six-bottle or more savings. Come taste. We think you'll leave expressing your delight!
