Understanding Burgundy : Primer Discourse

So what's up with Burgundy's price-to-quality ratio? Do you ever wonder what to make of the multitude of fractional vineyard ownership, the steep pricing structures from basic A.C. to Grand Cru level vineyards from the same producer? ... let alone those stratospheric numbers on DRC, Roumier or Leroy?? 

This evening will provide guests with an introductory understanding of the Burgundy value chain. This 2hr discussion will cover a basic breakdown of Burgundy's quality hierarchy. AND YES, WE'LL GET TO TASTE examples too (blind)!

Welcoming all comers looking to expand their tasting chops with a bit of thematic structure but very much a self-structuring event. 

Participants to this first in a series event will come away with the following:

1. An introductory analysis to tasting Red Burgundy vs Pinot Noir
2. An understanding of the basic consumer markets for Burgundy
3. An introduction to a focused region within Burgundy (ie: we're not expecting to taste every appellation in this course)
4. An expectation that you can survive picking a wine from any restaurant wine list

BYOB OPTIONAL

• Guests are encouraged to bring an example they with to share with the class and we will add it into the discussion to give everyone greater appreciation for this wonderful wine. 
• Stipulations: Prioritize for Burgundy (red). Not New World Pinot Noir. Cap expense at $100 please. These will be served non-blind.
