On May 24, 1976, Steven Spurrier hosted a groundbreaking blind tasting in Paris, comparing top California wines against renowned French Bordeaux and Burgundy. In a surprise outcome, California wines won both categories. As we commemorate the 50th anniversary of this event, we will revisit that historic showdown with a new blind tasting of California Cabernet and Chardonnay versus their French counterparts—an experience not to miss.
