John's amazing true crime story has been featured on networks including HBO, Discovery, Discovery ID, Oxygen and on shows including HBO Autopsy, Evil I, Very Bad Men, People Magazine Investigates, Born to Kill, Murder by the Numbers and Mark of a Killer. His book is currently being developed into a feature film called the Eyes of Jefferson and John is serving as Executive Producer.

John is the owner of Cassaro Winery and Vineyard in Ovilla, Texas and served as President of the Texas Wine and Grape Growers Association (2024) and President of the Texas Wine Foundation (2025).
