The fun is heating up at Tohono Chul this summer with the announcement of the park’s Plant and Sip: Create a Desert Dish Garden workshop. On Friday, July 17 from 6:30 to 8 p.m., as part of Monsoon Market and Chillin’ at the Chul, guests are invited to escape the summer heat and enjoy a relaxing evening as they create a beautiful cactus dish garden in the cool shade of Sami’s Courtyard.
During the event, participants can enjoy a beer, margarita or glass of wine, as the Tohono Chul nursery team guides them through the process of selecting, arranging and planting three unique desert cacti in a decorative planter, complete with accent rocks. Guests will receive care instructions to ensure their cactus dish garden thrives at home.
Before or after the workshop, participants can explore the Monsoon Market’s plant sale, educational exhibits, artisan vendors and garden talks. Set to the music of Tohono Chul’s Chillin’ at the Chul concert series and enveloped by the mature Ironwood tress of Sami’s Courtyard, this hands-on workshop is a chance to slow down, get creative and bring home a little piece of the desert.
The cost for this workshop is $65 and includes:
