Cost: 75-150

Acclaimed sommelier, winemaker, entrepreneur, and cultural voice André Hueston Mack debuts Thirst Trap, a new live experience that reimagines what a wine tasting can be.

Part guided tasting, part storytelling, and part late-night conversation, Thirst Trap invites audiences to experience wine through a fresh lens—one rooted in curiosity, humor, music, and culture.

Over the course of a 90-minute live show, André leads guests through four wines and one whiskey, sharing personal stories, breaking down the fundamentals of tasting, and exploring the people, places, and ideas behind each pour before welcoming a special guest for an unscripted on-stage conversation.

Designed to remove the intimidation often associated with wine, Thirst Trap offers an entertaining and approachable experience for seasoned enthusiasts and newcomers alike.

Tickets start at $75 and include the guided tasting experience featuring four wines and one whiskey.

Guests may also purchase a VIP add-on experience, which includes a meet-and-greet with André, Craighill's The Best Wine Key—designed in collaboration with André Hueston Mack—and a premium Josephinenhütte wine glass. VIP experiences are sold separately and require the purchase of an event ticket.

Additional food and beverage offerings will be available for purchase throughout the evening

Acclaimed sommelier, winemaker, entrepreneur, author, and cultural voice André Hueston Mack has spent his career redefining how people experience wine. After serving as a sommelier at The French Laundry, Mack went on to open Per Se as its founding head sommelier before launching Maison Noir Wines in 2007, his acclaimed micro-négociant label known for its distinctive wines and bold creative identity.

A sought-after wine educator and speaker, Mack has led seminars and panel discussions at premier industry events including the Aspen Food & Wine Classic and Newport Mansions Wine & Food Festival, and has collaborated with brands including Amazon, Cadillac, Microsoft, eBay, and National Car Rental. He has appeared on Anthony Bourdain's The Taste and NBC's Uncorked, and currently hosts Bon Appétit's World of Wine with André Mack—the platform's most-watched wine series on YouTube—as well as Through the Grapevine, where he interviews celebrity guests while putting their wine knowledge to the test.

In 2022, Mack expanded his portfolio with the launch of Rye & Sons, a celebration of America's original—and often overlooked—spirit, rye whiskey. A self-taught graphic designer, he also designs the labels for Maison Noir Wines and authored both Small Thyme Cooks and 99 Bottles: A Black Sheep's Guide to Life-Changing Wines

Sophia Roe is a James Beard Award winning chef, writer, founder of Apartment Miso and Emmy-Award nominated TV host known for her distinct focus on honesty, diversity and inclusivity. Her passion for food has always been connected to an understanding that some people have access to nutritious foods, while others simply and problematically do not. This duality is the foundation for Sophia’s work: celebrating the beauty and art within her cooking, while creating resources to advance food justice, building more sustainable and equitable systems, while combatting the systemic structures that leave so many without the resources they so desperately require.

When Sophia first started working in the culinary world 14 years ago, her unique perspective and outgoing personality immediately stood apart. While working in some of the most recognized restaurants, she turned to the digital world where she could share her experiences, convictions, and honest take on wellbeing—alongside recipes and culinary art that reflected her eccentric take on food.

A natural and powerful storyteller, her community continues to grow and now extends from her Instagram and YouTube platforms to “Counter Space,” a VICE TV show she produces and hosts—and for which she was nominated for a Daytime Emmy, notably as the first Black woman in the culinary category. Counter Space Season 2 launched in January 2023 on the Tastemade streaming channel. She has made appearences on the Drew Barrymore Show, Jennifer Hudson Show, Tamron Hall Show, Good Morning America, and The Today Show. In 2025, she hosted a travel culinary show powered by Toast called, “Signature Dish” in which she travels across the U.S interviewing chefs and restaurant owners about all the little things that make running a restaurant so exciting (and challenging)

Sophia has launched an exclusive jewelry collections in partnership with Pamela Love, a custom collection of essentials with Bombas meant to help support those in need, a workwear collaboration with Tilit meant to reinvigorate the culinary “uniform”, and has worked diligently with many non-profit organizations including The Women’s Prison Association, Project Glimmer, Edible School Yard, The Lower East Side Girls Club, and more

Sophia has appeared on the cover of Cherry Bombe, Human Shift, Edible Brooklyn, Edible Manhattan, Mimp, and Par Femme Magazines. She has also graced the pages of Vogue, The New York Times, Bon Appétit, The Financial Times, Elle, WWD, Architectural Digest, Domino, Harper’s Bazaar, Cosmopolitan, Gossamer, Coveteur, Marie Claire France, and more. She has also lit up our screens with appearances on the Drew Barrymore Show, the Today Show, Jennifer Hudson Show, and more

Sophia resides in Brooklyn, NY and spends most of her free time writing, filming, cooking and making art in her culinary studio, Apartment Miso. In 2025 she will be opening her up her culinary studio to the public for events, cooking classes, and photo shoots.
