For the 19th year, The Wooden Floor, one of the nation’s leading creative youth development nonprofit organizations, invites guests for a unique experience to taste the world’s top 1-3% wines while supporting young people aspiring towards their dreams for college and beyond at their annual Keep The Promise Wine Tasting Benefit. Since 2007, the organization has featured 12 of the world’s most exceptional wines – this year all with an average rating of 97 points and above, from regions such as France, Italy, Germany, South Africa and Australia as well as California, Washington, and Oregon.
At the 2024 Keep The Promise Benefit fundraiser, The Wooden Floor grossed nearly $410,000 for the organization, raising over $4.4 million in gifts throughout the benefit’s history. The generous gifts provided at this event allow for perpetual movement forward in the organization’s programming of dance education, academics, college and career readiness, and family services provided to The Wooden Floor’s students over their 10-year journeys.
In the richly appointed space of Big Canyon, accented by designer flowers, candlelight and golf course sunset views, guests sample the exceptional wines, enjoy listening to success stories from students, and can also participate in activities for select prizes, including the crowd-favorite blind tasting competition, Opportunity Drawings, and a silent auction.
Big Canyon’s Master Sommelier Steven Poe works diligently to perfectly pair the outstanding wines with signature small plate dining options prepared by Chef Craig Strong such as 2019 Cirq Pinot Noir Russian River Valley (Jeb Dunnuck 100pts.) and 2019 Weingut Clemens Busch Marienburg Raffes (Wine Advocate 98pts.).
