T EA 101: Introduction to Tea

This course will provide an introduction on the history of the origin of tea. You will learn how to differentiate the types of tea as well as the tea grading standards used in the industry.

T EA 102: Regions of the World

Students will examine in detail the principal tea-growing regions of the world. Develop a fundamental understanding of tea – its evolution and its influence on culture and world events.

• Meals: lunch, morning & afternoon break

COURSE DETAILS:

• This is an intensive program where all for TEA 101 & 102 will be covered over 3 days, including tastings, presentations, blind tasting and multiple choice exam.
• Students will be sent digital copies of the course books one week before class starts.
• If a student fails a portion of the testing, they will not be required to retake the entire course. Rather they will have the opportunity to re-take that portion at a future in-person session.

• As this course requires a minimum number of students to proceed, we strongly advise students to refrain from booking travel or accommodations until the course has been formally confirmed. Should you choose to make such arrangements prior to confirmation, we recommend selecting fully refundable options. CANCELLATION POLICY:

With over 30 years of experience as a writer, speaker, and educator, Karen writes the Cuisine page for The Tea House Times magazine and is a regular contributor to the Tea & Herbal Association of Canada's sip Magazine. She also serves as the President of the Mid-Atlantic Tea Business Association.
