What makes a great summer red for you? Do you like your mid-summer reds to be just a touch lighter and fresher that your fireside selections? A lot lighter and delicious with a chill – kind of a hearty version of rosé? Or do you take the approach of a Chateauneuf du Pape producer who asked what he drank when the temps crossed 100 degrees, replied, “I drink big reds. And sweat a lot.”

Whatever your style of summer red, you’ll find it out and open to taste on Saturday, July 11 from noon-4pm. The CBC team have chosen our favorite summer reds for all kinds of palates – those who like ‘em light and folks who want to drink big and are ok with a sweat. Here’s the line-up:
