James Beard Award-winning chef, author, and television personality JJ Johnson returns to SOBEWFF® with The Cookout, his signature walk-around celebration of the beauty and brilliance of African American culinary traditions, presented by Sonrisa Rum and featuring a special performance by hip-hop icon Fat Joe.

Chef JJ brings together an exceptional and diverse group of chefs who share his passion for reconstructing historical foodways and honoring culturally significant ingredients and techniques.
