Local Event
Join us on April 23 for the inaugural program in a new series benefiting Ventura Land Trust! This special evening will feature tastings of distinctive local spirits and an inside look at the sustainability practices behind the craft at Ventura Spirits.
You’ll also enjoy a fascinating exploration of native aromatic botanicals with VLT’s Conservation Director, Laura Pavliscak. Through a lively show-and-tell, Laura will introduce the ecological roles of some of our region’s most fragrant—and sometimes famously “smelly”—plants, including a few that make their way into the cocktails you’ll be tasting.
Upon arrival, you’ll be welcomed with a signature cocktail crafted with Ventura Spirits products: either a “Martinez de Fresa” or a “Cold Brew Strawberry Highball” (recipes below). You’ll also hear a short talk highlighting some of the remarkable botanical treasures found within Ventura Land Trust preserves.
From there, we’ll head behind the scenes for an exclusive tour of the Ventura Spirits distillery. Learn how their spirits are crafted, discover the botanicals that inspire their flavors, and enjoy guided tastings of additional Ventura Spirits products.
Limited-edition bottles will also be available for purchase onsite—perfect for taking a taste of the evening home with you.
Come celebrate our region’s unique aromatic plants, discover new favorite drinks, and support your local land trust at the same time. Cheers to conservation, craft, and fundraising!
Martinez de Fresa
This is a classic gin cocktail believed to be a precursor to the martini. Our strawberry liqueur plays the role of sweet vermouth to lend a uniquely VTA perspective.
