Bet you’re ready for something a little different. In weather - and, of course, wine! If so, this Friday’s free tasting is just for you. Of course, it’s also for anyone who’s been drinking lots of great wine and just wants to keep that roll going!

Pop into the shop from 3-7pm Friday and here’s what you’ll get to try:

Mary Taylor (Benjamin Ravier) MT3 Apremont 2023 - From the lower French Alps on Mont Granier, this 100% Jacquere delivers terrific texture without weight and loads of flavor without turning fruity. Another Mary Taylor gem.

SoHu Grasevina Croatia 2024 – Forget it’s from Croatia. If you like Italian whites like Verdicchio or Gavi and Spanish gems like Rueada that serve up crisp fruit and a silky/steely texture and crisp, dry, finish, this is very much for you!

Margerum Rose Santa Barbara Riviera Can 2025 – Our first 2025 rosé of the season is a winner on color, aroma, flavor and…package! Doug Margerum’s very Provençal pink is always delicious. And portable, too, in a 355ml can.

Pala Cannonau di Sardegna Centosere 2023 – A terrific take on Sardinia’s clone of Grenache, full of bright red fruit and a nice, fresh, mineral streak.

Bodega Lanzaga Rioja Corriente Bueno de Diario 2022 – Winemaker Telmo Rodriguez calls this, “A good, everyday wine… Corriente is a simple and approachable wine that represents a region, its culture and of course its wine.” Delicious value here.

With wines like these, something different on the cheese front makes sense, too. So sink your teeth into Parish Hill Kashar, a Balkan-style style pasta filata cheese turned out in basket molds to form drums. From a Vermont-based producer that specializes in Italian-style, seasonal, cheeses it’s cow’s milk and delivers a nice burst of buttery, tangy, and somewhat peppery flavors. A new favorite cheese – and a few new favorite wines – await!
