This tasting is a chance to explore how different producers interpret those qualities, from smooth and approachable to rich, full-bodied, and intensely expressive.

During this tasting, guests will sample four rye whiskeys, each selected to highlight a different side of the category:

Sazerac Rye, 100 Proof
Aromatic and balanced, with notes of clove, vanilla, anise, and pepper. On the palate, subtle candied spice and citrus lead into a smooth finish with hints of licorice.

Thomas H. Handy Rye
Bold, lush, and deeply spiced, with notes of toffee, fig cake, and candied fruit, followed by mint, cinnamon, and clove. The finish is long and warm, with touches of allspice, coconut, and nutmeg.

River Roots Occular 3x Rye
A sweeter, fruit-forward expression with notes of golden raisin, citrus, and green apple, layered with baking spice, cocoa, and a rich, viscous texture. Its long finish brings lingering caramel and toasted oak.

Basil Hayden Dark Rye
A softer, more approachable style with a smooth texture and notes of dried fruit, cherry, and caramel. This unique blend offers a sweeter, more rounded take on rye whiskey.
