Italian & Italian-American, side by side. Join us along with our friends from Pizz'Amici Billy & Cecily Federighi for a playful exploration of Italian and Italian American cuisine. From scampi to pizza to pasta, taste side by side Italian and Italian American classics and learn a little of the why along the way.

Chef Billy is a second generation Italian American with grandparents from Sicily and Tuscany who met here in Chicago. He grew up with weekly Sunday Gravy family lunch, which his wife Cecily joined almost 15 years ago. Cecily grew up with Tortello's very own Chef Annie Waugh on the south side of Chicago, where Cecily was regularly Annie's guinea pig as she started cooking in middle school. When you dine at Pizz'Amici, much of the food traditions stem from Billy's own Italian American family. When you dine at Tortello, you are experiencing first generation Italian food - all 100% rooted in Dario Monni's experience growing up in Italy. We are excited to bring you a meal that puts these two experiences side by side on the plate, celebrating the history, differences and similarities.
