Red Stitch Wine With Rich Aurilia

Please join us Wednesday, April 11th, any time between 4:30-7:30pm, when we welcome back Rich Aurilia to our wine bar. Mr. Aurilia was with us last year with his wine partner in crime, Dave Roberts, Manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers. However, this year, we will have Rich all to ourselves to showcase the new releases of his Red Stitch wines he produces with Dave.  
 
Along with their wives, Rich and Dave joined a blind tasting group and met another couple, John & Noelle Micek who work in finance. In 2008, after Rich and Dave’s playing careers ended, the group followed their mutual passion for fine wine into a partnership to produce their own. They hired winemaker, Rolando Herrera, who began his wine career as a harvest worker for Stag’s Leap before becoming the cellar master for seven years and eventually launching his own ‘Mi Sueño’ label in 2007. Red Stitch released its first wine in 2010 with a 2007 vintage Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. A year later, they started sourcing Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from the Sobranes and Sierra Mar vineyards in Santa Lucia Highlands. Our Ferry Godmother, Debbie Zachareas, met Rich and loved his wines so much hence our enthusiastic support of the Red Stitch offerings!
 
For this year’s flight, we will enjoy a min-vertical of the Red Stitch Sobranes Vineyard Pinot Noir from the 2012, 2013 and 2014 vintages along with their Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignons from the excellent 2012 and 2014 vintages.
 
While the Giants won’t be playing the Dodgers on the 11th like they did last year when Rich and Dave were here, they will have played the Arizona Diamondbacks at AT&T that day so let’s hope we’ll also be celebrating a Giants victory with a great San Francisco Giant!

The flight will be served in both a one ounce and two ounce glass and the wines will be available for retail sale as long as supplies last.
