April is just around the corner, and this may be your chance to get in on a great evening. The Yakima Enological Society has finalized their Twenty-Fourth Annual Platinum dinner to be held on April 18th, 2026, at the Yakima Country Club starting at 5:30 pm. During this event we will be featuring 24 Platinum award winning wines from the 2025 judging conducted in October by “Great Northwest Wine” magazine.
Many of the winery from past years will be in attendance representing their wineries They are Alexandrie Nicole Cellars, WIT Cellars, Clearwater Canyon Cellars, Tsillan Cellars, Bayernmore Cellars, Maryhill Winery, King Estate Winery, Martinez and Martinez Winery, Cathedral Ridge Winery, Yakima Valley Vintners, Cougar Crest Estate Wines and Cellardoor Winery.
We have 9 new wineries providing wines for our Platinum event this year. They will be: Arenness Cellars, Caliche Estate Winery, Cerebella Wines, Fujishin Estate Winery, Larc Hill Vineyards, Quiddity Wines, Stags Hollow Winery, Tucannon Cellars and Windhorse Vineyards. Several of these new wineries will also be attending this evening’s event.
In 2025, there were over 600 Gold Medal winning wines entered in the Platinum judging and only 74 (12%) were awarded a Double Platinum. We will be serving 22 Double Platinum winners or almost 30% of those awarded at our dinner this evening.
The evening will start with the Winemakers Reception where we will enjoy eleven great Platinum wines paired with passed appetizers as we meet the personnel from the award-winning wineries. Following the reception, we will enjoy a five-course meal, each course paired with Platinum winning wines. The First course will be a Mixed Citrus Salad with pistachios, Caca oranges and Prosciutto and three Sauvignon Blancs The second course will be Duck Gumbo with Andouille sausage and white rice and three Viogniers The third course will be Seafood Risotto with scallops, salmon and halibut and three Pinot Noirs. The fourth course will be Spanish Adobo Pork Ribeye with corn and bean fritters and pineapple slaw and three Syrahs. We will finish the night with a Panna Cotta Cherry Compote and a glass of Razzle (Port) half Touriga Nacional and half Tinta Cao.
We will have a silent auction during the reception with some baskets and small lots of Platinum award winning wine. A live auction will occur during the course of the evening with wines, dinners, and seats at the 2026 Platinum judging. Credit cards are welcome at our event to pay for auction purchases. Proceeds from past Platinum dinners have allowed the Yakima Enological Society to donate over $160,000 in scholarships to Pacific Northwest college wine programs, including Washington State University, Walla Walla Community College, Yakima Valley College, Umpqua Community College and Central Washington University
For our out-of-town guests, we have made arrangements with Oxford Suites, 1701 E. Yakima Avenue, for reduced rates on king-size bedrooms ($107). You just need to let them know that you are with the Yakima Enological Society
The ticket price will be $180 per person. The tickets may also be purchased online at our website: yakimawine.org. Reserve early to secure your spot and fill up your table. Seating is limited and this event fills up fast.
