Raise your steins and bring your appetites, Oktoberfest – A Taste of Germany is coming to downtown Hanover!
Activities schedule:
- 10:00am - 2:00pm: Cornhole Tournament hosted by the Hanover Borough Parks & Recreation Department
- 11:00am - 2:00pm: Oktoberfest Food Stroll
- 11:00am - 2:00pm: Live music from the Blaskapelle Shippensburg German Band in Center Square (Please bring your own lawn chairs to enjoy the music under the tent)
- 12:00pm - 1:30pm: Enjoy face painting for a donation, with all proceeds supporting Main Street Hanover
- 2:30pm: Beer Stein Hoisting Competition in Center Square - Host is improviser, producer and writer Brian Shea!
- 3:00pm: Oktoberfest themed trivia in Center Square - Host is improviser, producer and writer Brian Shea!
As you stroll, enjoy the lively atmosphere and be sure to visit downtown breweries offering authentic and seasonal beer selections for purchase, perfect for pairing with your bites.
Oktoberfest Food Stroll: 11:00am – 2:00pm
Join us for this festive stroll through downtown, where local eateries and venues will be serving up delicious German-inspired dishes at each stop. From bratwurst and schnitzel to strudel and spaetzle, experience the flavors that echo the town’s rich heritage.
2026 Participating Businesses:
- Little Fox Coffee & Books: Lebkuchen Latte — A seasonal, non-alcoholic German-inspired latte featuring the warm, spiced flavors of traditional Lebkuchen.
- The Cake Bar: German Chocolate Cake Cups — Individual servings of rich, indulgent German chocolate cake, perfect for a sweet Oktoberfest treat.
- Dawg Gone Bees: Traditional German Honey Cake (Honigkuchen) — A traditional German honey cake made with the rich, naturally sweet flavor of honey.
- Aldus Brewing Company Dolphin & Anchor Pub: Honey Roasted Almonds — A returning Oktoberfest favorite featuring sweet and savory honey-roasted almonds. Sodas and water will also be available.
- Cultivated Essentials: German-Inspired Pretzel & Cheese Spread — Homemade sweet apple cider mustard and traditional non-alcoholic Obatzda served with an assortment of pretzels, cheeses and other accompaniments for dipping.
- The Serpent’s Key Shoppe and Sanctuary: Pennsylvania Dutch Potato Pancakes — Crispy, traditional potato pancakes inspired by Pennsylvania Dutch culinary traditions.
- The Sea Gypsy: Bienenstich Cake or Streusel — A traditional German-inspired sweet featuring the classic flavors of Bienenstich or a delicious streusel topping.
- Cherry Tree Lane Vacations: German-Inspired Gingerbread Cookies — Delicious gingerbread cookies packaged with a guide to experiencing Germany through Disney Parks, Disney Cruise Line and Adventures by Disney.
Oktoberfest Food Stroll Ticket $30 | Your ticket includes:
- German-inspired food and non-alcoholic beverages at select downtown stops
- Oktoberfest wristband, festive necklace, and themed party accessories
- A map of all destinations

Participating downtown breweries where flight vouchers can be redeemed include Dolphin & Anchor BrewPub by Aldus Brewing, Lydian Stone Brewing located on the second floor of Greer’s Burger Garage, Fat Bat Brewing Co., Lighthouse 153, and Dawg Gone Bees, Hanover’s local meadery. Each location offers a unique craft beverage experience, giving attendees the opportunity to explore a variety of locally crafted beers and meads throughout downtown Hanover.
Please note: Beer flight vouchers may only be redeemed by individuals 21 years or older with a valid photo ID.
