We are honored to host winemaker Catherine Kistler for a rare vertical tasting exploring the evolution and nuance of her coastal Sonoma vineyards. Crafted from some of the most distinctive sites along the far western edge of the Sonoma Coast, Occidental Wines capture the tension, energy, and clarity that define this remarkable region.

Through this guided tasting, guests will experience multiple vintages side by side, offering a unique opportunity to trace the subtle shifts of season, site expression, and winemaking perspective over time. Catherine will share insights into her meticulous farming practices, the challenges of working in this rugged maritime climate, and the philosophy behind these singular wines.

This intimate gathering is a rare chance to engage directly with one of California’s most thoughtful voices in Pinot Noir. Space is limited. First come, first served. 

જ⁀ HOSTED BY CATHERINE KISTLER - Catherine Kistler grew up with a deep connection to the rugged, windswept landscape of the far Sonoma Coast, where her family first set out to explore the potential of Pinot Noir in the early 1990s. What began as her father’s belief in the promise of the Freestone-Occidental ridgelines evolved into Occidental Wines in 2011, a project rooted in farming extreme coastal sites just miles from the Pacific. Since joining the estate full-time in 2017, Catherine has stepped into the role of winemaker, steward and storyteller, guiding the winery into its next chapter while honoring the vision that shaped it. Today, she leads both vineyard and cellar with a focus on precision and restraint, crafting Pinot Noirs that capture the tension, clarity, and unmistakable coastal energy of these remarkable sites. Working alongside a longtime team that spans decades, Catherine continues to refine Occidental’s voice—one vintage at a time.
