Wine terms are confusing. Because "mineral" is absolutely, entirely, different from "earthy" - even though minerals certainly all come from the earth! This Saturday we'll help you fix in your mind the difference between the two once and for all. Or, if you don't care, just share five fantastic wines that you'll come back to again and again. Come by the shop this Saturday from noon-4pm and try these:

Marangona Chiaretto Riviera Del Garda Classico 2025 - Alessandro Cutolo is all about the mineral, saline, side of wines from Lugana. Which is what his rose delivers along with early season strawberry, peach and apple and more.

Dom des Malandes Chablis Village 2024 - From a wet, gloomy, vintage comes a wine that pours out sunshine into your glass. Gloriously crisp, mineral, vibrant Chablis Chardonnay that has steely cut to thrill classic Chablis lovers and the body and generosity to delight a crowd. Silly good. 

Dom des Malandes Chablis 1er Cru Mont de Millieu 2023 - This prime 1er Cru site's wines often need a little time to show off their depth and power, and an extra year in bottle has done that here. We just bought more of this - there is no 2024.

Ch La Gorce Medoc 2019 - Exactly what you’d hope to find in a bottle of Medoc: a complex woodsy/spicy flavor profile, the structure and intensity to stand up beautifully with hearty meat dishes, all at a fraction of the price of a Grand Cru Classe Bordeaux. 

Cantina Sociale Cooperativa Copertino Riserva 2017 - For everyone who as have asked a wine shop staffer, "What do you have that's earthy." As WS said of last year's release, “This creamy red is well-spiced and fragrant, with orange peel acidity animating plumped cherry and sultana, dried eucalyptus, vanilla, tar, and leather notes.”
