Marine Layer is the longtime dream of visionary Baron Ziegler, brought to life through years of friendship and collaboration with Rob Fischer. Together, they set out to create a Sonoma Coast-focused brand sourced exclusively from some of the region’s finest vineyards. The result is a collection of elegant, approachable wines shaped by discovery, precision, and creativity.

Inspired by the thick marine fog that rolls in from the Pacific, Marine Layer celebrates the distinctive character of the Sonoma Coast—where cool temperatures and challenging growing conditions lead to longer hang time, bright acidity, nuanced flavors, and beautifully balanced wines. With an artisanal approach rooted in sustainable farming, heritage clones, hand-harvesting, and a deep commitment to quality, these wines are made to be explored and enjoyed.

Winemaker Rob Fischer will be on hand to share insights into the vineyards, vintages, and philosophy behind the wines, offering a deeper look into what makes this project so compelling. A Napa native with more than 20 years in the wine industry, Rob Fischer began his career at Domaine Carneros and has worked across numerous respected wineries, including winemaker at Banshee Wines before joining Marine Layer. Known for his collaborative style and focus on expressive, site-driven wines, Rob brings both technical skill and a deep appreciation for the farming behind great wine.
