Mahjong Night At Clif Family Winery

Get ready for our first-ever Clif Family Mahjong Night! Join us for an evening of clacking tiles, great wine, and a fresh look at one of the world’s most beloved games. Whether you’re a seasoned player or picking up a tile for the very first time, you’ll leave with new friends, new skills, and a glass of something delicious in hand.

Our evening begins with a special author talk from Nicole Wong, creator of The Mahjong Project. Her book, Mahjong: House Rules Across the Asian Diaspora, is part step-by-step guide, part oral history—weaving together gameplay, strategy, and the rich cultural legacy of the game across generations. Her work has been featured in Vogue, NPR’s Code Switch and All Things Considered, The Washington Post, and more.

After the talk, she will walk you through the fundamentals of traditional Chinese mahjong—so by the end of the night, you’ll be ready to host a game of your own.

The Vibe: An intimate evening capped at 48 guests. Bring a friend, bring a partner, or come solo and meet someone new at the table.

Included with Ticket: Author talk, traditional Chinese Mahjong instruction, and one glass of Clif Family wine.

Sips: Additional pours and bottles of Clif Family wine available for purchase throughout the evening.

Bites: Our Bruschetteria Food Truck will be open late, serving our full regular menu. Don’t miss our Funghi Bruschetta and Polenta Tots.
