Join us for our next Flight Night featuring Lingua Franca, hosted by co-founder Larry Stone, Master Sommelier. Discover wines shaped by the cool-climate beauty of Oregon’s Eola-Amity Hills, where Lingua Franca crafts site-driven Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Born from the acquisition of the Janzen Farm in Oregon’s Willamette Valley, Lingua Franca was founded with a singular vision: to craft wines of precision, purity, and elegance from a remarkable site long sought after by Oregon’s top winemakers. Guided by low-impact, organic, and regenerative farming, and shaped by the expertise of vineyard consultant Mimi Casteel, the estate vineyard was planted to reflect its diverse soils and unique character.

The result is exceptional Pinot Noir and Chardonnay of striking finesse, drawing the attention of Burgundy’s Dominique Lafon, who first to urged Larry to start a winemaking operation after he had planned and planted the vineyard. They were soon joined by Thomas Savre, who volunteered to help realize the vineyard’s full potential, bringing with him impressive credentials, having worked for Domaine de la Romanée-Conti and Domaine Dujac in his early years, and continuing to work with Bertrand de Villaine. With the Willamette Valley’s cool climate and Burgundy-like growing conditions, Lingua Franca continues to produce wines defined by site, balance, and an abiding respect for the land.

Larry Stone, Master Sommelier, is one of the wine world’s most respected and influential voices, known for his deep knowledge, discerning palate, and lifelong commitment to hospitality and education. In 2012, he acquired the Janzen Farm in Oregon’s Willamette Valley, a sought-after vineyard site that became the foundation for Lingua Franca. Larry’s vision helped establish a winery devoted to crafting wines that reflect the vineyard with purity, uncommon grace, and a true sense of place.
