Make bibimbap, mandu, and banchan while learning essential Korean cooking techniques and bold, balanced flavors.

Step into the vibrant world of Korean home cooking in this hands-on class centered around bold flavors, balanced textures, and beautifully composed dishes. You’ll learn how to build a complete Korean meal using essential techniques like marinating, stir-frying, seasoning vegetables (namul), and folding dumplings. From sizzling beef bibimbap to handmade mandu and a colorful spread of banchan, this class is a delicious introduction to the heart of Korean everyday cooking.

On the Menu:

Beef Bibimbap – A signature Korean rice bowl topped with seasoned vegetables, marinated beef, a fried egg, and gochujang sauce. Students will learn how to prepare and layer components for a balanced, flavorful, and visually striking dish.

Pork and Kimchi Mandu– Handmade dumplings filled with savory pork, kimchi, and aromatics, then pan-fried or steamed until golden and tender. This dish teaches folding techniques and building bold, well-seasoned fillings.

Banchan – Spicy Cucumber Salad, Quick Kimchi, Seasoned Spinach, Seasoned bean sprouts: A traditional assortment of small vegetable dishes that bring balance and variety to the meal. Students will prepare several quick, flavorful sides including spicy cucumber salad, quick kimchi,

seasoned spinach, and seasoned bean sprouts, learning how simple seasoning transforms everyday vegetables into essential Korean accompaniments.

️ What to Wear:

Please wear long pants and flat, closed-toe shoes for your safety. Long hair should be tied back. You will be standing and cooking for most of the class, so we recommend wearing comfortable shoes. Sandals, flip-flops, and high heels are not permitted in Columbus State kitchens.

️ Allergy Notice:

Nuts, shellfish, and other common allergens are frequently used in our kitchens. If you have any food allergies or dietary restrictions, please notify us at least 48 hours in advance at themix@cscc.edu. We will do our best to accommodate your needs, but please note that adjustments cannot be made during class.

Cancellation Policy:

If you need to cancel your class booking, you may do so up to 48 hours before the class to receive a refund or class credit. If The Mix must cancel a class for any reason, you will be notified by phone or email and offered the option to reschedule or receive a full refund.

Class reservations are first-come, first-served—early registration is encouraged.
No refunds will be issued after the class has been held.
The Mix reserves the right to substitute instructors or modify class content when necessary.
