1-Hamel Family Wines 2023 Sauvignon Blanc Sonoma Valley

Wine Enthusiast 93 Rating

$59.99 bottle and by the six pack $50.00 bottle

Aromas of Kaffir lime leaf, pineapple sage, pithy citrus, lemon blossom and candied ginger mingle and dance on the nose of this concrete egg and neutral oak-aged Sauvignon Blanc. The palate brings a nervy freshness and minerality that persists with flavors of lime peel and tart pineapple in a framework of generous acidity that vibrates along the finish.

2-Hamel Family Wines 2023 Grenache Moon Mountain District Sonoma Valley

James Suckling 92 Rating

$79.99 bottle and by the six pack $68.00 bottle

A remarkably bright, mineral-driven and thirst-quenching wine... On the nose, iron minerality, cranberries and red cherries, savory herbs and delicate notes of rose petals. On the palate, crunchy, tart red fruits, bright acidity and sanguine minerality.

3-Hamel Family Wines 2020 Stratum Red Sonoma Valley

The Tasting Panel 95 Rating

$49.99 bottle and by the six pack $40.00 bottle

From the western slopes of the Mayacamas, volcanic soils of rhyolitic colluvium and fractured basalt play an integral role in shaping the character of this estate blend of 66% Cabernet Sauvignon and 34% Merlot. Seamless, luscious, and broad, with suede tannins capturing ripe red cherry and cinnamon tea. A dusty cocoa-plum profile exudes pulchritude and charm.

4-Hamel Family Wines 2019 Isthmus Red Sonoma Valley

Wine Advocate 96 Rating

$89.99 bottle and by the six pack $75.00 bottle

The 2019 Isthmus is a fragrant, easy-to-drink blend of 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot, 18% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot from the Nuns Canyon Vineyard (89%) and the Hamel Family Ranch Vineyard (11%). Matured for 18 months in 22% new French oak barrels, it has a deep ruby color and a nose that is bursting with Morello cherries, baked blueberries, charcuterie, fried savory herbs and peppercorn—complex yet open for business. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is concentrated and floral with persistent acidity, silty tannins and fragrant violet and graphite nuances on the long finish. 2,068 cases were made.

5-Hamel Family Wines 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Hamel Family Ranch Sonoma Valley

Outstanding Cabernet Sauvignon to Buy from the Robb Report

Enjoyabilityfactor 96 Rating

$149.99 bottle and by the six pack $130.00 bottle

This lovely wine is composed of 87 percent Cabernet Sauvignon and 13 percent Cabernet Franc. All the grapes were grown on the Hamel Family Ranch in Sonoma Valley and only 550 cases were produced in 2018. It is aged in French oak barrels for 20 months but only about half of them are new. It is inky purple in the glass with aromas of black raspberry, black currant, and cedar shavings. In the mouth it is silky with soft tannins and flavors of black plum, red raspberry, and tobacco leaf. Drink now or over the next decade.

6-Hamel Family Wines 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Nuns Canyon Vineyard Sonoma Valley

Wine Advocate 96 Rating

$159.99 bottle and by the six pack $135.00 bottle

The 2018 Nuns Canyon is a blend of 74% Cabernet Sauvignon and 26% Cabernet Franc from Hamel Family’s Nuns Canyon Vineyard, and it was matured for 20 months in 36% new French oak barrels. It takes significant time in the glass to begin to reveal its aromas of Morello cherries, thyme and cedar, but the palate is already wonderfully balanced. It boasts concentrated flavors, abundant, powdery tannins and refreshing acidity, with haunting graphite and floral character defining the long finish. This will require at least 3-5 years in bottle to begin to unwind.
