As a part of our continued “Wine and Art Series”, Links Bridge Vineyards is hosting an exhibit of artwork in the pastel medium by Bryan Jernigan. Jernigan is a well-known professional artist, a faculty member at the Art League in Arlington and he teaches workshops and classes for the McLean Project for the Arts. He is a master of many techniques and mediums. In this exhibit he presents a series of framed pastel landscapes that highlight his travels throughout the United States, focusing specifically on the Eastern Shore. They illustrate very well how his inclination toward impressionism is powered by his skill with realism and his love of abstraction. Beauty is around every corner and through his use of composition, value and color, captures the spirit of a place, whether it be gentle rolling hills or seascapes. The pieces are small and medium (5" x 7" to 16" x 20"), but they pack a powerful punch and each will be accessible to anyone who appreciates impressionistic paintings.
