We are very excited to announce a new venue AND the return of spirit dinners! We are thrilled to partner with Baja Rick's Cantina in Downtown San Diego. Situated across from the convention center, this venue provides a beautiful outdoor seating environment, with the ability to move indoors, if needed. We've ensured our schedule does not coincide with any big conventions nor Padres games and have scheduled the start time to allow guests to utilize metered parking. This new partnership will allow us to bring back spirit dinners!
For our next spirit dinner, we will feature exceptional whiskeys from High West. These distinctive selections will be presented by whiskey expert and brand ambassador, Bianca Sterling. Chef Erin has crafted an exceptional seasonal pairing menu with to accentuate each selection. Utah may not be what comes to mind when you think of whiskey, but this award-winning distillery reminds us of Utah's important part in our country's whiskey history; Utah cast the all-important 36th vote to end prohibition in 1933! Founded in 2006 by David and Jane Perkins, High West became Utah's first legal distillery since 1870. A short 10 years later, High West was crowned Distiller of the Year by Whiskey Advocate. Today, High West focuses on exceptional core whiskies and an adventurous specialty program featuring unique mash bills and extensive barreling. We'll feature a combination of both facets, including the 2026 edition of Bourye (higher ABV and 10+ years of aging) and two very limited selections; a Sherry Aged Straight Whiskey and the Single Malt High Country. All of the selections will be available for purchase at the end of the evening! Expect a very fun evening of whiskey and food conversation from both Bianca and Chef Erin. Each selection will be paired with its own tequila inspired dinner course, prepared by Chef Erin Sealy. Chef Erin specializes in pairing food with spirits, with a slightly different approach than most. Prior to creating a menu, each selection is tasted and reviewed and then she creates a food pairing, highlighting the nuances of each spirit. This concept creates a dinner and pairing experience with layers of complexity and unique creations which exemplify the enjoyment of each tequila. With a passion for food, wine and spirits, Chef Erin delights attendees with a detailed account of the pairing concept and cooking techniques that create each course.
