Join us on August 29th for a NEBS sanctioned BBQ competition! Compete in the action for best wings or ribs! Or come and taste the wings from each team and vote for your favorite! We'll have live music and teams will be cooking outside. Check out their rigs, enjoy some craft beer, and eat some wings!

Your ticket purchase grants you entry to the back of the brewery where the action will be taking place. You are entitled to try a wing from every team entered and vote for your favorite! 50% of your ticket fee will be donated to Operation Delta Dog, the other 50% goes to cash prizes for the winners YOU vote for!

This is a New England BBQ Society (NEBS) sanctioned event, and therefore all NEBS rules apply. There will be a Cook's Packet provided to each team who registers with in depth information and rules. Here is a brief idea:

Categories

There will be (2) NEBS competition categories, Chicken and Ribs.

There will be (1) People's Choice entry, Chicken Wings.

Judging

People's Choice is directly based on how many votes are recieved by the public.

NEBS categories are judged by (6) judges and judged double blind. (6) seperate portions must be submitted and they will be judged based on Appearance, Taste, and Texture.

Prizes

People's Choice Prize is 50% of ticket sales. Prizes awarded to first and second place.

NEBS prizes are cash based on team competition entries. Prizes awarded to first, second, and third place for each category. There will also be Reserve Grand Champion (2nd place overall), and Grand Champion (1st place overall).

Since this is a NEBS sancitoned event, points of this event count towards NEBS Team of the Year. See www.nebs.org for more info.

Cooking Site Info

Cooking media can consist of wood, wood pellets, or charcoal. Electric augers, or forced drafts are allowed. Contestants may perpare and cook sauces, stuffing, and/or garnishes in advance.

Cooking sites will be outdoors, in a 15' X 20' space. Site assignments will be made upon arrival. Water and electricity will be available. Trash and ash disposal will be available. Restroom facilities will be available. Please leave sites in equal or better condition than when you arrived. Teams that leave the site in an unacceptale condition will not be invited back and not allowed to compete in NEBS sanctioned events for (1) year.

Timing

7AM - Cooking teams may begin arriving and setting up at Henniker Brewing Co.

10AM - NEBS Classic Cook's Meeting in taproom to review rules, etc.

2PM - People's Choice Turn In

3PM - NEBS Chicken Turn In

3:30PM - NEBS Ribs Turn In

5PM - Awards (Approximate)

What is Operation Delta Dog?

Founded in 2010, Operation Delta Dog is a non-profit organization with a mission to rescue and train shelter dogs as specialized service companions for veterans experiencing PTSD, TBI and MST. By bringing together Veterans and Rescue Dogs, Operation Delta Dog aims to provide healing, support, and a new lease on life for both.
