Giustini Illuminato 2017 $17.99
Fiano is one of the most ancient grapes on the Italian peninsula, popular among vitners since Roman times. This verson from Salento is a bright straw yellow in the glass, with deep floral notes on the nose that compliment the rich tropical fruit that bursts forth on the palate. A delightful pairing for a richly seasoned seafood dish.
Cantine Volpetti Frascati Superiore 2017 $13.99
Frascati is the table white of Rome, and any trattoria in the eternal city is guranteed to serve pitchers of this aromatic white. This expression from Cantine Volpetti has more weight on the palate, with delicate but nuanced stone fruit flavors.
Valle Martello Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2016 $13.99
Abruzzo in south central Italy is a mountanous area with rich, rustic country food, the perfect foil for a Montepulciano. With its rich red fruit, light but firm tannin, and bright acidity, this wine should always grace a heavily laden table.
Cascina Ballarin Barolo Bussia 2013 $74.99
The Bussia vineyard is one of the most historic in the Barolo region. Producing wine since 1928, the entire Viberti family is involved in the production of Cascina Ballarin's wines, maintaining the quality and care that only a small family run winery can truly present. Their stellar 2013 vintage Barolo sees 26 months in French barrique, which rounds out the complex, powerful floral tones of the nose and the intense, tannic palate. Beautifully structured to age, this wine will also make a wonderful addition to the table this fall and winter.
