Here’s why it’s worth planning to arrive right at 4, 5 or 6pm for this Friday’s free tasting. Because you’ll find Gianlorenzo Neri of Montalcino’s legendary Casanova di Neri standing at the tasting table. And if you’ll give him 30-40 minutes he’ll introduce you to one of the world’s top red wine estates through a brilliant tasting of:
Casanova di Neri Toscana Irrosso 2022
Casanova di Neri Rosso di Montalcino Giovanni Neri 2023
Casanova di Neri Pietradonice Toscana Cabernet Sauvignon 2021
Casanova di Neri Brunello di Montalcino White Label 2021
Casanova di Neri Brunello di Montalcino Tenuta Nuova 2020
Casanova di Neri Brunello di Montalcino Cerretalto 2019
That last one? A $450+ and 100 point Brunello di Montalcino that will take your breath away. Although that’s true of most any wine carrying the Neri family name!
And there’s no better time to meet Gianlorenzo than right now as he and his brother, Giovani, take the winery helm from their dad, Giacomo Neri, retires. Stepping into the shoes of one of Brunello di Montalcino’s pioneers and still the only Brunello winemaker to ever earn 100 points from Wine Spectator.
All are welcome. If you can, please RSVP for one of the three tasting slots so we can steer others to the sessions that will be less crowded. Gianlorenzo will start each session close to the scheduled time and then take time to chat with you and sign bottles as requested. If you miss the beginning of one session, don’t worry – we’ll catch you up after it’s done and before the next slot begins.
Collectively purchasing just 1 bottle each of the wines Gianlorenzo will be pouring would set you back more than $800 at normal retail. They’ll be on sale at much better prices than that! But whether you’re in the market for some of the most exciting and sought-after wines in all Montalcino or just want to enjoy a great – and free! – start to your weekend, this is the tasting for you.
