Join us for a special evening with Frog’s Leap Winery as founder and winemaker John Williams leads a guided tasting of his wines. We’ll gather in person for the event, with John joining us via Zoom to guide the experience and share insights behind each wine.

Originally from Western New York and trained in viticulture and enology at UC Davis, John founded Frog’s Leap in 1981 with just 800 cases and a clear vision: balanced, terroir-driven wines rooted in sustainable farming. By the late 1980s, he had established the winery in Rutherford and became a true pioneer of organic viticulture in Napa, securing the valley’s first CCOF-certified vineyards and championing dry farming, a practice still rare in the region.

In a place where many wines chase ripeness, extraction and scale, Frog’s Leap has stayed committed to a different approach. These are classic Napa wines with restraint and energy, moderate alcohol, bright acidity and judicious oak that supports rather than leads. The wines are fresh, food-friendly and age-worthy, with Rutherford character at the center.

Today, Frog’s Leap remains a standard-bearer for thoughtful farming and classic Napa style, with a fanatical cult following drawn to its authenticity and consistency. The wines emphasize restraint over power, with moderate alcohol, bright acidity, and judicious oak—capturing the signature “Rutherford dust” character while remaining fresh, food-friendly and age-worthy.
