Hundreds of thousands of years in the making, the Finger Lakes were carved out by successive waves of glaciers that passed through the region. They left large and deep fresh water lakes and the soil deposits that have become gifts to our winemakers! Riesling is a stand-out for sure, and most wineries have a signature version that blends multiple lots of harvested grapes from around the Finger Lakes. But over time, certain vineyards have stood out among others. This has led to more bottlings of “SINGLE VINEYARD” wines that truly evoke a unique sense of place.
