Step into the world of viticultural history for an exclusive Franklin Wine Club, sit-down educational tasting at Franklin Liquors. On May 7th, we are honored to host Julia Cahiza, North America Sales Director for Raventós Codorníu, for a guided exploration of one of the world’s most storied wine families.
Established in 1551, Raventós Codorníu is Spain’s oldest wine-growing business and the visionary creator of Spanish Cava. Today, they lead the industry in organic sparkling wine and sustainable viticulture, overseeing 15 prestigious estates across the globe.
This curated session will feature six exceptional wines, taking your palate from the historic cellars of Catalonia to the sun-drenched slopes of Napa Valley. We will delve into:
· The Heritage of Cava: Discover the elegance of world-class Spanish sparkling wine.
· Spanish Terroir: Explore bold and expressive reds from Spain’s most iconic regions.
· The Carneros Connection: Experience the artistry of Artesa, Raventós Codorníu’s acclaimed estate in Napa Valley’s cool-climate Carneros region.
Originally from Mendoza, Argentina, Julia Cahiza brings over 25 years of industry leadership to our wine room. With an MBA and certifications from WSET, the Sommelier Society of America, and The Wine Academy of Spain, Julia offers a wealth of knowledge and a unique perspective on the global wine market.
