WSET Level 2 Award in Wines (in-person course)

An intermediate-level qualification for anyone looking to explore the world of wine

Classes every Tuesday, from 7/7/26 to 8/25/26, 6-8pm, at our location in Issaquah

(Exam Sunday 9/13/26)

Recommended for:

• Individuals looking for a core understanding in international wines
• Appropriate for individuals in hospitality, retail and wholesale industries
• Valuable to any individual interested in learning about wines

Requirements:

• No previous study requirements, no wine knowledge is assumed (WSET Level 1 Award in Wines is NOT a prerequisite to taking WSET Level 2 Award in Wines)
• At least 21 years of age.

What you'll learn:

• How grape-growing, winemaking and maturation factors influence the style and quality of wines
• Key labeling terms used to indicate origin, style and quality
• The style and quality of wines made from 30 grape varieties and in over 70 geographical indications (GIs)
• How grape varieties and winemaking processes influence key styles of sparkling and fortified wines
• Principles and processes involved in wine storage, service and food pairing
• How to describe and assess wine using the WSET Level 2 Systematic Approach to Tasting Wine

What You'll achieve:

• The skills to select, taste and describe wines with confidence
• Successful candidates receive the WSET Level 2 Award in Wines certificate and digital pin.

Classroom:

Learn from instructors with industry experience. Class instruction includes guided tastings, interactive sessions and exercises designed to bring complete understanding of the learning objectives.

Class includes:

• Minimum requirement of 28 hours of study time
• 16 hours of classroom instruction
• 11 hours of personal study and revision
• 1 hour examination
• WSET Level 2 Wine Study Kit
• Guided tastings of over 45 wines
• WSET Level 2 Wine exam - closed book, 50 multiple choice questions
