Interesting White Wines For The Summer
Pack your palate and join us on Thursday, July 30th at 7 PM for an expedition through the sun-soaked soul of Europe's white wine country. This is a curated journey from the windswept plateaus of Iberia to the ancient volcanic cliffs of the Aegean, a summer in a glass, four stops at a time.
Europe's white wine regions are a mosaic of sea breezes, ancient soils, and grapes that have never needed an introduction; they've been speaking for themselves for centuries. We've mapped out a route that captures that incredible diversity, perfectly suited for the warmest nights of the season.
Guided by our resident explorer and wine expert, Tracey, we'll navigate the distinct landscapes that define Europe's greatest summer whites. Our trek opens in the high, arid plains of central Spain with a Verdejo from Casamaro before crossing into the cool, granite river valleys of Portugal's Minho region for a crisp Loureiro Vinho Verde.
From there, we head inland to the rolling loess hills of Austria's Kamptal for Schloss Gobelsburg's celebrated Grüner Veltliner, before our final leg carries us across the water to the sun-scorched, black volcanic soils of Santorini for Gaia's legendary Assyrtiko.
Tracey will share the stories behind these native grapes and the geological wonders that make each sip a true "sense of place." Whether you're a seasoned traveler of the vine or just getting your passport stamped for the first time, this is an evening of discovery, great company, and the kind of conversation that only happens over a shared bottle, chilled, of course.
We are going to feature these four wines:
1. Casamaro Verdejo from Spain
2. Limia Loreiro Vinho Verde from Portugal
3. Schloss Gobelsburg Grüner Veltliner from Austria
4. Gaia Monograph Assyrtiko from Greece
