A low country shrimp boil & games night on our lawn to support unhoused folks and those who give their time, energy, and hearts to do so!

On Saturday night, August 29th, we're eating them into house and home.

Join us on the lawn at Bethany UCC for a low country shrimp boil, euchre tourney, and games night.* Why? Because Bethany's going back to Biloxi, MS to keep people in their homes, repair houses, and serve those who are living without either.

Back Bay Mission is just about the only progressive church presence in the whole gulf area, where they've been making good trouble for over a century. In Biloxi, overnight shelters aren't allowed, it's illegal to sleep outdoors, and the effects of Hurricane Katrina are still evident everywhere. And Back Bay Mission runs on volunteer power. All proceeds from the night support our travelers going to join this life-saving work.

Also because: when was the last time you went to a shrimp boil??? Elbows on the table, a feast poured out on a paper table cloth, eating with your hands...Shrimp, sausage, corn, potatoes, and a vegetarian pot too (with veggie sausage). Soft drinks, mocktails, with beer and wine available for a suggested donation.

Roll up and eat your fill for a good cause.

You can also kick in by way of a silent auction, raffle, or straight-up donation (there's an option with the tickets).

* Have a game you love? Bring it!
