More about Paj Ntaub Cuisine
Traditionally, the Hmong would share stories through generations by sewing them into the Paj Ntaub.
Using that concept, Blong started his own Hmong catering business called Paj Ntaub Cuisine. Which specializes in sharing stories of Hmong food while adding a modern twist. Blong offers chef tastings and cooking classes as a bonus. He also helps others share their stories through food by collaborating with community chefs and youth.
Paj Ntaub Cuisine is more than just a catering business; it's also a community helping to build the next generation.
More about Blong Vang
While getting his A.A.S in Culinary Arts at Saint Paul College, Chef Blong worked at Meritage, Upton 43, and Black Dog Cafe and much more.
Chef Blong grew up learning traditional Hmong cooking from his parents, who helped him open his own deli (Murphy’s Alley) where he served the best Chicago dogs. This experience sparked his interest in becoming a culinary chef.
Though he enjoyed his culinary experiences in the restaurant industry, he felt his calling was toward the community he grew up in.
He has tailored his career to teaching youth in the community, cook what they grow in their back yard, and empowering youths through food education/justice.
He also specializes in adult cooking classes, where he’s been invited to teach private lessons, library events, art events, and as an alumnus for Saint Paul College’s Friends on the Lawn.
He’s making waves with Paj Ntaub Cuisine, sharing Hmong food traditions and empowering the next generation through food education.
