Join us for an evening of great food + even better conversation!
A summer staple for CommonGround Minnesota, this year's Farm Dinner brings us to Rice, MN in central Minnesota. Our host, Jocelyn Schlichting, is the fourth generation on her family's farm. They grow corn, kidney beans, peas, rye, and potatoes and also raise hogs.
This event will showcase a universal truth in agriculture: all farms are unique and do what works best for their land and their operation. No two farms are alike, even those in the same neighborhood-- and you'll get to hear about what makes Jocelyn's farm so special to her family.
Join us beginning at 5:00 p.m. for social hour, complete with drinks, appetizers, and great conversations. At 5:45 we will kick things off with a formal introduction of our hosts and eat our wonderful meal. Following dinner, we will have a Q&A panel with farmers from around the state of Minnesota! Come hear about farm life and what it means to be part of the 2% of Americans that grow our food. You'll have a chance to ask any food + farming question you've ever had! We'll have time for dessert and some additional informal conversation before wrapping up the evening around 8:00 p.m. Whether you're coming from the metro or just down the road, this event will be an evening to remember!
