Local Event
Join us at Michael’s Wine Cellar for an unforgettable evening celebrating the iconic wines of Clos du Val, one of Napa Valley’s most respected wineries, paired with a thoughtfully crafted multi-course culinary experience from the Michael’s On East culinary team.
On Thursday, June 25 from 6:30–9:30 PM, guests will enjoy a curated menu expertly paired with exceptional selections from Clos du Val’s celebrated portfolio. From elegant Sauvignon Blanc to expressive Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and rare vintage pours, each course is designed to showcase the depth, balance, and timeless character that have defined Clos du Val for generations.
The evening begins with passed hors d’oeuvres served alongside Champagne “Réserve Brut” from Telmont, setting the tone for a sophisticated night of fine wine, gracious hospitality, and beautifully composed cuisine. Guests will then journey through a series of chef-driven courses featuring multiple expressions of Clos du Val Cabernet Sauvignon, including both current and library vintages, culminating with the winery’s luxurious “Yettalil” Bordeaux Blend paired alongside dessert.
Founded in 1972 in Napa Valley’s Stags Leap District, Clos du Val has earned an international reputation for crafting elegant, balanced wines that reflect both place and vintage. Its story is closely tied to Bernard Portet, the winery’s founding owner and winemaker, whose Bordeaux heritage helped shape Clos du Val’s refined and restrained style. Portet’s father served at the legendary Château Lafite Rothschild, giving Bernard an early foundation in the traditions of one of Bordeaux’s most celebrated First Growth estates.
That Old World influence became part of Clos du Val’s identity from the beginning, guiding a winemaking philosophy rooted in balance, structure, and age-worthiness. The winery gained worldwide acclaim after its Cabernet Sauvignon was featured in the legendary 1976 Judgment of Paris tasting, and today Clos du Val continues to produce wines of exceptional finesse and longevity while remaining rooted in the traditions that established its legacy.
Set within the warm, intimate atmosphere of Michael’s Wine Cellar, this special evening is ideal for wine enthusiasts, collectors, and lovers of elevated culinary experiences. Join us for exceptional pairings, rich storytelling, and a memorable exploration of one of Napa Valley’s most enduring wineries.
